Chapter 155 [day 270]: Sunday 13 December
PEACE ON EARTH
Good afternoon everyone
When the angels appeared to the shepherds outside Bethlehem 2000 years ago, they announced the birth of the Messiah, a Saviour, and then thousands of angels appeared singing – Glory to God in the highest, and on earth, peace to all mankind.
Since then, the world has known war and strife within nations and between nations. Individuals fall out with each other, often with dire consequences and our world today is filled with everything except peace. During the pandemic, millions are searching for peace of mind as they worry and panic about the pandemic or are suffering extreme anxiety because of the lockdowns. Anxiety and worry is plaguing millions today as people are desperate to find peace of mind. So where is this peace on earth that was promised by the angels?
Without God, our week would be: Sinday, Mournday, Tearsday, Wasteday, Thirstday, Fightday & Shatterday.
In this morning’s service, we listened to some Christmas carols and watched a moving presentation of the true story when tragedy struck the Spafford family and how they were sustained by the peace that passes understanding. The service lasts 45 minutes >>>
Do continue to remember members of the Chapel who are struggling with health or who are having to shield at home. Continue to encourage one another with a phone call. Thanks to all of you who have sent Christmas cards to individuals and to everyone at the Chapel. We are looking forward to the time when we can once again all meet together ‘normally’ whether that be for Sunday services or the weekday groups and activities. In the meantime, stay safe and enjoy the peace that passes understanding.
