3rd Generation Fellowship (3GF)
In 2007, one of our members had the vision to take some of the older ladies in the church on short day trips, visiting local Garden Centres or other places. Using our old minibus, we had 8 on the very first trip in November 2007 to Mancetter Garden Centre and a trip to Byrkley Garden Centre the following month.
Numbers quickly grew as we ran different monthly trips, and in June 2008, with a generous grant from Sutton Coldfield Charitable Trust, we took delivery of a mini-coach offering considerably more space and comfort. By the end of that year, there were over fifty men and women listed as regular 3GF passengers.
3GF runs around 12-15 full-day or half-day trips each year to favourite destinations and discovering new places.
Whilst some of the original 3GF members are no longer able to travel with us because of frailty and age, the overall numbers continue to increase as we welcome new people joining in 3GF trips.
Many of these new friends go on to be involved with other Chapel activities, and some now regularly attend on Sundays as a result of meeting us through 3GF.
