What’s on Sunday Services

What’s On -

Sunday Evenings - (ad hoc)

We do not have a regular meeting at the Chapel on every Sunday evening. However, there are occasions throughout the year when we do meet in the evening  - for example:

 - Bible Studies, Lent or ‘Christianity Explored’ courses, or Café Church format which is an informal relaxed style of meeting for discussion, questions and answers, or following a study course.

 - when there are five Sundays in a month, we meet with churches of East Sutton Coldfield Churches Together

 - we hold a ‘Carols by Candlelight’ service on the last Sunday evening before Christmas

There are other occasions where we may arrange a special meeting for a Sunday evening and this would always be well advertised.

Sunday Morning Service - (weekly)

Sunday morning from 10:30 is the main service of the week for regular church members and visitors.

You’re not expected to ‘dress up for church’ and all ages are welcome. We normally conclude around 11:45-12:00noon with tea, coffee and biscuits. Often people are still found talking and sharing together up to an hour after the service has finished.

Services do not follow a formal liturgy and are a relaxed and informal style of worship. Members of our leadership team lead the service most weeks with Bible-based teaching. Sometimes we invite guest speakers and preachers broadening our understanding of Christian work in this country and overseas.

Music and singing is a blend of old and new including classic hymns, well known 20th century Gospel and modern praise and worship songs. {SEE OUR LATEST TOP 20 AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE]  Song words are projected on a large screen at the front of the Chapel although for anyone who has difficulty in viewing the screen, song books are available from the stewards.

The PA system incorporates an induction loop amplifier for anyone using a hearing aid, and many services and talks are recorded and are available to listen online or download from our Recordings Library

Breaking of Bread (Communion) is normally included in the morning service on 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays although that is not a rigid rule and can be flexible depending on the theme, the leader, or other considerations.
